Title: Minnesota turkey hunting
Post by: vagrousehunter on January 28, 2012, 08:33:58 AM
My wife and I are planning to visit our son in Minnesota this spring.  I was hoping to fit in a few days of turkey hunting but I noticed that there is a license draw for non-residents.  I was wondering if anyone knew if the license is difficult to come by or are there often permits left over.

When are you planning to come up? The last 4 periods are OTC and if you decide to hunt with archery equipment, an archery tag is good for all 4 of the last 4 periods instead of a single period as with a firearm tag. With the increases in zone sizes, it should be even easier to purchase a surplus tag. If you're staying close to the WI border, that's another option to think of. Turkey hunting is a little better there, especially on public land.
