anybody got any good info on the hevi-metal turkey loads. they are a blend of hevi and #4 steel pellets at around 1400fps, they are a 3.5" 1.5oz and a 3" 1.25oz shell, they are $12 for the 3.5's and $10 for the 3's (5 round boxes of course)
they seem to be marketed as the poor mans hevi 13, i would be interested in trying them out as a novelty of sort, but i would be hesitant to shoot steel through my x-full turkey tubes, do you guys think there would be any problems????
thanks Zack

Zack,
If they are steel, DO NOT shoot them through your turkey chokes. Only a choke rated for steel is safe.
dont quite see the point of them? stupid idea in my opinion.maybe a blend of LEAD and steel would be a good idea. But since you cant shoot steel shot through a turkey choke, and the majority of people now a days shoot tight (-er than full) turkey chokes..it doesnt make sense to me why Environmetal would market it.
maybe they would be a decent teal or woodie load! who knows...

X2
I wonder if they are going to market a choke for this load?
This stuff was covered...IN DEPTH...ad nauseum about 2 pages down on this forum. The next page tab is a wonderfull thing.
I will be testing them early next week, after I wrap up Duck Season here in Fl.
