Title: Season openers
Post by: FttFttVroom! on January 26, 2012, 11:05:40 PM
Season begins here in OK on April 6th, so looks like most of you guys will be tagged out before I hit the woods.  Hopefully I can improve on a score if needed.  My birds typically don't weigh alot, mostly in the 20-22 lb range, but they make up for it in beard and spur length usually.  We have had an extremely mild winter and a strong hatch this past year.  I expect to have another banner year here in Oklahoma!  When will my other southern brothers be hitting the woods and what do your turkey prospects look like this spring?

You guys kill me. :TooFunny: I'm still waiting to here a gobble when you guys are in the woods. It just gets me more excited though listening about your hunts and looking at your birds. My season open up here on April 25 and runs till May 31. It's a long wait but it's worth it :z-guntootsmiley: Always room if some ones to come up :icon_thumright:

Looks like I will be the one getting the ball rollin this year. We have had a very mild winter this year with the warm temps I have also been seeing alot of birds. The highs have been in the 70's for the month of January I think it has the birds confused. I'm hoping for a good season the last couple of years we have had some good hatches and was seeing alot of poults. Maybe that's a sign of things to come. :z-guntootsmiley:

Hello to all and good luck.  PA season does not open until the first of May, but it is likely I will be in AL from March 22-25.  Then I am in SC April 20-22.  Then home for the month of May.  I did this last year and never put a long beard at the end of my barrel.  Probably called up over 30 jakes and never dropped the hammer.  Worst season in memory.  Let's hope those jakes are still around and I can contribute to the team.

I like smoked turkey :z-guntootsmiley:

Tennessee starts March 31, but I put in for a WMA hunt and if I get drawn, I can start the 29th.
