Title: How conservative are you with your wood?
Post by: MarkJM on January 26, 2012, 10:04:35 PM
I often find myself keeping the littles pieces of wood from a project. The scrap can be 1/8 think and and inch long and I still throw it in my wood box to use for something. Even junked pot calls I will cut up and use for inlays, or laminated pieces. How far do you go with your scraps?

I'm like you I keep just about everything.  Never know when you get the bug to make a jigsaw puzzle laminate. :icon_thumright:

Yep I keep everything too!  Small pieces come in handy for inlay and small projects.

I often dive into my scrap box for little projects but most gets used for kindling.
I do keep some of the better scraps set aside though.

depends on the wood and how full the box is.

But sometimes I get irritated by the clutter and clean shop.

Honestly I wast a lot of wood but I am getting better now knowing what it takes for my calls.  I use to use 2.25 thick blanks for my pots.  What a waste of wood and a waste of time turning into shavings.
