I recently received the short box I sent to the Midwest Competition. A kind gentleman from OG did my bidding for me so that I was able to get it back. It's a cherry box and paddle with poplar sides. I was pretty excited to see my name in with these guys!

Congrats, that's a beautiful call! :icon_thumright:
Congrats, but I'm not sure how I feel about winning a medal with only doing the finish work on a call. Actually, I do know. I think it stinks that there is someone who started making a call from scratch that was imo robbed of a medal. I just don't think it's in the spirit of a call competition where people are making custom calls, but maybe that's just me. I've only made a couple of box calls, but there's a lot that goes into it before the finish work. To take one of Joe's calls that's been already been CNC'd out to shape and finish from there just takes so much of the sound of the call out of your hands.
Obviously you do a great job tuning and finishing the calls and there is certainly a lot to be said for that. You also sell them at more than a reasonable price. Award winning though...really? Sorry. Hate stirring the pot but jmho.
