Title: 20ga auto
Post by: RailRoader on January 24, 2012, 02:52:21 PM
Looking for a 20ga auto for my wife. Any suggestions? I really like the 11-87 and have seen where it is made in a compact model. The gun will be used for dove and turkey mainly.

     Thanks

Just got a 11-87 compact from"Santa" for my 10 year old. I must say the camo finish is pretty impressive. So far have only shot squirrels and rabbits, but no problem ejecting "Low Brass" ammo. Can't wait to try out 3" HW7's and Hevi 13 6's when the weather breaks. The ability to add onto the stock is certainly a plus as it will fit him forever. Another added touch is the integral swivels on the butt stock as well as forearm cap. Had a fairly hard time finding one in camo, ended up ordering from Bud's Guns in Kentucky.
One final note....the recoil is almost non-existent with 2 3/4" magnums courtesy of the gas recoil system.

I bought the 11-87 Compact 20 for my son last year.  I went with the Remington Super Full and Hevi-7's last year.  He did not get to shoot a turkey with it, but hopefully that will change this year.

11-87's are great guns. My cousin has the 12Ga. supermag and it has been through it and still keeps ticking.
I am a Rem. fan for sure.
