None of the above. I have two ARs that are both semi custom builds and they cost about the same as Stag and RRA and the build quality is higher than those two. There are a few routes to go when getting an AR and one is to build your own lower ( way easier than it looks) and then buying a complete upper. For my 5.56 build I built a lower using a stripped lower from Palmetto State armory and then getting a parts kit with a better quality trigger and assembled it myself. I then got a pretty good upper at Surplus Arms and Ammo that had a 16" Black Hole Armory Stainless barrel and a YHM free float handquard for about ~$550. So all told it was around ~$900 for the complete rifle and it shoots sub MOA with cheap American Eagle ammo from Walmart. If you want more info shoot me a PM.

IMO, STAG!!!!!!!  I got the 3G for Christmas and it rocks!!  I have been shooting the Armys ARs for the past 11 years and this thing blows your standard AR outta the water.  And you will be hard pressed to buy the parts they use and build this particular model for what Stag is charging.  Not an endorsement just my opinion for whats its worth.

If you do decide to build it your self you may save a few bucks.  If you skimp on every other part dont skimp on the barell.  I have seen some out there that will not hold a group no matter what ammo you shoot.  Also get one with a good twist rate.  1-8 is my personell favorite as it will stabilize a wide range of bullet weights.

I will warn you, if its you first pace yourself if funds are an issue.  You can sink alot of cash in one in a hurry.

Of the two choices (Stag or Bushmaster), I'd choose the Stag.

If you're even slightly competent around firearms, consider building your own AR rifle.     Buy a stripped lower and buy a LPK (lower parts kit) and then build the lower yourself.     It's easily accomplished in less than an hour if you take your time and don't force anything.

You can then buy or build an upper receiver in various stages of completion that fit your exact needs.     You can make it anything from a home defense gun, to a door kicker special, or varmint rig.

I just built an AR from a stripped Stag lower and a Del-Ton upper.      The other parts (rails, grips, sights, muzzle devices) are from suppliers like Magpul, Yankee Hill Machine, Rock River Arms, Burris, Streamlight and Blackhawk.

The nice thing about AR's is you can make them anything you want.    You can build an entry level gun for around $600, or go all out and build something in the $1,500 to $2,000 range depending on quality and quantity of accessories.

Whatever you do, don't go out and buy every accessory you see for an AR.    Figure out what role you plan on using the rifle for and then get your goodies once you see what works and what doesn't work.

Something that looks good on paper, doesn't always work out in practice.

Buy a lower, and parts kit to assemble and order a Del-Ton upper with a few Pmags.
