I have a couple of guns with Poly-Chokes on them. The older ones like on your Mossberg or on the older Marlin guns, are not rated for tungsten-based shot like Hevi-Shot. The new Poly-Choke II is a screw-in choke that also has the adjustment features of the older PC. You may shoot tungsten-based shot thorough them.
I also have one of the old bolt action Marlin Goose guns with a fixed full choke barrel. It's an old gun but has a 3" chamber and I have shot Hevi-13 shells with than gun. Patterns were okay but I have other guns that shoot so much better, I've never taken it turkey hunting.
