I would say at 25 yds or less just about anything would work.I would maybe try some lead #6's or maybe even 7 1/2's to beef up the pellet count.you'll have plenty of energy at 25 yds.just see what shoots best

Kinda did the same thing this past weekend......took an ole 20ga single shot rabbit hunting. It was my first gun as a child.. and hadn't hunted with it for 35 years! Let the children take most of the shots for the day...but as luck would have it, I jumped the last rabbit for the day and after making 3 circles with the beagles in tow I put the little 20 in gear and took the my first shot and ended the days hunt right at dark! Ran a bore-snake...a little rem-oil and back into the safe! Fun Stuff!!

One of my retired school teachers has turkey hunted for about 40 years and has killed over 150 turkeys. So a couple of years ago he decided to hunt only with a 410 single shot, to kind of re-light his "fire". It worked as he has killed a bunch of turkeys with it. He said he never had so much fun.

Good luck and God Bless
