My 12yr old son and I are using them in our guns.   He has a Tri-Star 12ga 26" barrel that uses the Benelli style choke.   I have Reminton 1187 Super Mag with a 28" barrel. We did pattern the guns last year and I think they were under 200 at 40yds in a 10" circle.    I am not sure all that matters because he killed his first turkey ever  at 35yds and thirty minutes later was able to kill another turkey at 15yds.    I also killed two turkeys last year one at 20 yds and another at about 10yds.

We will pattern the guns again this year to see how they are shooting and to get him used to shooting a heavy load again.   He was 11 years old last year when he shot those turkeys and did pretty well handling the 12ga with the heavy loads.

So I don't see a reason to try something else at the moment.

We tested one in an 870 with 3.5 inch magblends and straight 6's with great results. It outperformed a black diamond and supermax in our tests.

I used the Hevi-Shot brand choke in my Mossy 835 with a 24 inch ported barrel with the 3 1/2 mag blends and it didnt pattern worth a crap. They shot better out of my Indian Creek. The pattern was very blotchy, i shot an entire box of 5, swapped over the the IC choke and it shot more even patterns. I was not impressed with their choke and shell combo, i expected alot more from them. Although, it may be different in someone elses gun.

Yes, as has been said, it's an excellent choke tube and was designed with the Hevi-13 shotshells.

I've shot them through most guns now and all have done well. They seem to deliver dense, even patterns with all the H-13 loads.

Thanks,
Clark

Really liked mine last year with the mag blends. Shot good hunting numbers and was consistent with a good lot# of shells. .662 in an 870 SM. If you do a search there have been several posts on these that you may find some pattern pics in.

I love my HS tube in my Extrema. It is consistently putting 310 or more in a 10 inch circle with 7's.

Fantastic results in Berettas/ Hevi 13 Chokes:   :icon_thumright:

Beretta Xtrema:  300-305 in a 10 in circle @ 40

Beretta 390 20g:  170's in a 10 in circle @ 40

*These results were with 7's(factory ammo).  Mag Blends patterned well in the 3in and 3.5in in the Xtrema.
*All Hevi 13 loads i have shot through the Xtrema and Hevi Choke i would be comfortable taking to the woods.
