Title: Review of trough call by Hersh
Post by: decoykrvr on January 17, 2012, 05:48:47 PM
I received a copper surface/walnut trough call today made by OG member Hersh.  I've played w/ and carried trough calls for a number of years, primarily for the sweet clucks and purrs at which they excel.  Well, this new trough not only produces great clucks and purrs, but the yelps are superb.  I've already run about 10 different striker woods on the call and have produced about 8 different pitches.  I love to carry calls which are capable of producing turkey sounds which I know the birds havn't heard.  I'm already designing a call case for this sweet little call, since it will be in my vest this spring.  If you've never used or owned a trough call, then this call by Hersh is one which I would definitely reccommend.

Bird,
Sadly I'm a "chuck-hole in the information super highway" and about the time I was ready to learn how to post pictures, my wife loaned her camera to my mother-in-law and I've been told to bide my time.  The real plus to the trough from Hersh is the shallow presentation of the call surface on the call which enables you to make really good yelps and cutts.  I've already ordered another of Ryan's calls for a friend and told him that he's selling them too cheaply.  If you want a quality trough call at his current bargin price, you'd better get ahold of him soon.
