When hunting for turkeys (spring or fall) what's your go to call?
Personally I like a mouth call the best but will use a friction call on occassion.
In the spring i'll use a triple reed for rasp, in the fall i'll use a double reed for
using the kee kee run.
I've found I sound the best on slate.
My go to is usually a pot call of some kind. Either Crystal or Copper, just depends.
In the spring I like to work them in with a slate or aluminum pot and then finish them off with the mouth call. I work the calls until I feel I may be seen and then let the mouth call go from there.
Mouth calls. Anything from Hooks or my HS EZ RASP or Power V.
Pot call.

Me to
My go to caller is a Fatal attraxion glass or a Supreme call girl. I use a mouth caller when they get close.
Woodhaven mouth calls. Red Wasp is my favorite.
Clearly I'm not the only one, but I find when the going gets tough or the bird gets close I'm using a Hooks mouth call.
i use whatever warbird turkey call i have in my hand or mouth which will likely be the anodized aluminum pot and the no. 49 mouth caller
Woodhaven Cherry Crystal Classic, Copperhead or a Black Diamond
Chances are I will be running my white oak slate call before anything else in the woods on any given day. That thing has proven itself many times. I may throw in some calling on my anodized aluminum call here and there as well. Once the birds get close enough that I need to have my gun up, I will be running my super-secret cut mouth call custom made by the great Scott Hook! :icon_thumright:
I just fart
Bama Boy mouth calls and Fatal Attraxion slate calls!
an old Tom Gaskins
