I started shooting Federal Heavyweights in my 870 SM, with an undertaker choke tube last year. Decided to go with the hevi 13 #7's this year. My undertaker was not an HTL choke tube.......took me a vise and a set of vice grips to get it out :help:,after I got it out I tried another tube and it screwed in OK, but the undertaker is toast! I've got a HTL undertaker headed my way!
That sucks! Chokes are cheap. I'm glad it didn't damage your barrel.
It sounds like you may have had some choke swelling, unless there was some rust that was making it tough to remove. Just to be sure, I'd clean the threads really well and put some oil or light grease on them to stop any possible corrosion.

That's weird... I've shot quite a few HTL loads through my standard .665" Undertaker tube. No swelling, and it throws a very nice pattern for a sub $20 choke.
Always apply some oil to the threads before you screw a choke into your barrel. It helps prevent seizing, and makes removal much easier.
Threads were clean, I always put a little white lithium grease on them.
