Hi My name is Robert Brown. I came across this picture from a friends facebook page and wanted to know if there has been a record wolf of this size taken before? According to the friend who posted the pic. The wolf was taken just south of New Meadows, Idaho. He claims the guy in the picture is 6'4" and the wolf weighs in at 290 pounds. Maybe you can let me know if this is fact or fiction?
TW: Robert, 290 lbs. seems a bit high, but these Canada grey wolves are clearly not coyote size.
I would guess that wolf weighs nowhere close to 290 lbs. My nephew did a search on the interent trying to find out what the record weight is for a wolf and I believe he said it was somewhere between 190 and 200. I saw a good sized male wolf a couple years ago in Idaho when I was turkey hunting and while it dworfed my labs, I bet it wasn't even close to 200 lbs.
Thanks. I know they say a big wolf can get up to 185lbs.

If that was a real pic that wolf would be over 290lbs.
I have a english mastiff that is 170 and its no where close to the size of that.
