Title: Got the FFII+ Gobbler74 guard, now what?
Post by: mudhen on February 18, 2011, 02:49:03 PM
Ok, got it all set up.

Now what?

Leupold bore sighter shows the dot is not that far off already, but I know tuning will be required.

The big sheet of paper game  ???

Where do you optics gurus set the dot, and what is the control range?  Base of the neck at 40?  30?

This is new to me, but very cool I think.  Gobbler74's guard installed perfectly.  Very clever to design it so the cover still fits!

when I get mine set up I plan on using a broken down cardboard box at 20yds to get it set good than do fine tuning at 40.. once its set ill run a few types of shells to see what patterns tightest

I start with cheap shells at 15-20 yrds. Get it as close as possible(dead on) Then moved target to 40 yrds Put in my turkey shells and adjusted accordingly. I only shot three turkey loads. shot one adjusted shot 2 adjusted and 3rd one was dead on.
