Title: Stop thief
Post by: misfire on January 09, 2012, 09:23:31 AM
Seems that while I was away from my shop working on my truck, someone felt obliged to steal me blind in the shop. He stole a mallard call, a deer grunter, a copper call ( my last) and a trumpet. Now who do you think would be so low as to do something like that????? The thing I dont get is, he has no clue how to blow a duck call, and knows even less about a trumpet. Plus, he is too fat to chase after a turkey if he even heard one. But atleast my niece can show him how to use the grunt call. In the meantime, I got some new wood today and decided to fill the void in my box with two new copper calls. The first one is made of mango. Beautiful grain and figure in it, plus a lot of chatoyance

The next one is really special. I made a call for Harold Fowler over the summer. In a swap, he gave me thi wood that he harvested over 20 years ago on his hunting property. I couldnt believe how much red was in this wood!!!! I have plenty to make several calls, and it is amazing. Flame box elder

BTW, the thief was my brother :toothy12:

Wow! That mango one is crazy good looking. The red is really nice too. I really like it! You make some great looking calls! Sound great too. I know my zebra wood one is growing on me more and more every day. My buddies are already sick of hearing turkey sounds. Too bad season is still 3 months away!

Glad you like the call Gus. I told you, copper is different, but quickly grows on you to the point it will be the first call out of your vest every morning.

Both woods are nice but the elder with the red is outstanding.
For the thief I would wait until his eyes were closed and fill all of the little holes with insulation foam then the would have to buy new ones!! :TooFunny:

The problem is, he doesnt BUY anything when his brother is a callmaker. He just waits till I am out of town and sneaks over and steals whatever he wants :z-guntootsmiley:

Get him started reloading shotgun shells then get even.
