Title: Fastfire 3 group buy.. (update)
Post by: gobbler74 on January 05, 2012, 08:09:14 PM
Due to business at home and upcoming plans I'm unable to fool with this. Someone else can sure handle the reigns.  :icon_thumright:

I would like to be in on a group buy if it saves us some cash. I'd like to have the 3 moa with the picatinny mount.

It did last year. Also guys something to consider if this even happens is if OG is cool with it. Nobody get their hopes up until its all clear.

If coupled with Jim's new FF3 protector which I'm sure he is already working on then yes there will be a pretty good savings.  Add in the mount on top of that and you guys will probably be looking at saving yourselves $30 or more.   Most likely you'd be getting a free mount or protector at the very minimum when it's all said and done.

We need to check on product arrival dates and then Jim can go on from there.  I'm not involved in this buy.  I'm only directing Jim to those that can help him just so you know.

If this does go forward will there be buying options or a one size fits all package???...meaning I would be interested in the sight only...no mount and no protector...

More info will be known on that soon..I think the "Official" release of the scope is pending first..I believe the shot show may be an important date but not speculating. Only Burris Optics can tell us the ready date. I have to have "scope in hand" to ready a guard, test fit and all that good stuff. I don't think it will take much tweaking but still can't promise anything on it. Thanks.

For what it is worth.....I have been watching Midway USA and they have steadily been "Delaying" the availability date of the FFIII. Initially it was posted as 1-9-12...currently they show 1-26-12! I got a feeling we will be lucky to have one in hand for practical use much before Spring!

You maybe right about a delay from Midway however the SHOT show begins on Tuesday and will I can't say for certain, I'd imagine Burris will announce the FF3 next week. Give 2-3 weeks for delivery to retailers to start receiving the merchandise.   I'm hopeful anyway

I'm in the same boat.  I was just about to buy a II when I read on here about the III coming.  With as tight as my schedule gets, I'd much rather by scouting birds in March than patterning a shotgun!

After talking to Burris via PM the other day....I went ahead and ordered me a FFII.  He says he would be very surprised if I could get my hands on a FFIII before our season opens on March 15th.  I just can't wait that long.  I guess I will eventually move the FFII to my son's gun and get me a FFIII later on once they're more available, get any initial production kinks worked out, etc.

I'm trying to get an update on release dates as I type this and will let you guys know what I hear.  The last I heard we were shooting for March 1 on the 8MOA and April 1 for the 3 MOA.  I know those are pretty crappy dates for most of you but I'm pushing as hard as I can to get them earlier.

I don't know each of your situations but what did you do before Fast Fire sights were available, you used the bead on the end of your barrel.

Stay in the group buy and use your bead until the sight comes in.  That way you get a new FFIII at a better price than guys not in the group buy.

No, I used various scopes, and EOTechs.

I just wanted to try the FF as well on a newer gun, as I have heard good things about them.

Me either. I'm staying optimistic.  Even if we save a little green on the site, mount and guard it will be worth it.

I'm not sure what the prices would be but the savings would be comparable to last year's buy.  I'm not involved with that so I wouldn't really know.  There may be a post-season group buy it sounds like.

I wont be involved in one till after turkey season. Probably looking at late May to start. Someone else may be available for that right now but I'm too busy with calls. I wouldnt want any hunter expecting their stuff before his or her season to be mid season preparing their setup. A group buy after the spring smoke clears is a valid option for those not looking for one this season

I would have to venture that this group buy deal is dead in the water and is t moving forward at all.  So I would say that if you're interested in a FF3 that you might as well pick one up on your own and not wait around for a group buy that appears will never happen.  I myself went ahead and purchased a FF3 with. 3moa and am very happy with it sitting atop my RRA CAR4.
