Title: TURKEYS
Post by: TRKYHTR on December 17, 2011, 06:24:41 PM
I haven't posted any pics of my turkeys in a while. They were all fired up this morning when I went out so I let Buddy and one of his girlfriends out of the pen. It didn't take Buddy long to find Skeets, my rooster. He chased him around for a while and then I decided to break it up. Then he wouldn't leave me alone. I boxed with him for a little bit and then just picked him up. Whenever I pick him up him just calms down and quits. He's got all his new feathers and is looking pretty.

I think I am going to call her J LO.

You must not have read the whole thing. He was trying to flog me with his wing several times and wouldn't leave me alone so I picked him up. He calms down after I pick him up.

why no beard?

I know why you always have a jacket on now, to hide your feathers.  All turkey you are.

He marches back and forth against the pen which rubs it off. Then the other day he got it caught in the fence and pulled most of it off and even split it in half. So you can barely see a beard at all. It's about 1 1/2" long.

So that is how you get the sound in those pot calls. Nice captures looks like he knows you when you have him wrapped up.
