I found an old lock block in the shop that was headed for the trash can. Of course the scavanger that I am could not let it go that easly. Any ideas on type woods? It kind reminds me of maple by the color but the sticker on the bottom says "made in china" like everything else now days. The 2 pieces (approx 3 1/2" X 7") weight about 2 1/2 lbs. The grain is very slick where it was cut.
