Title: ...Federal Premium Tree Yelper...
Post by: NCBigShot on November 26, 2011, 07:52:51 PM
...Been wanting to make one of these types of calls for a while now.

...Neat little yelper I made from one of my shoulder-breakin' 3.5" shell hulls. Found the perfect diameter piece of cane to fit inside the hull and added my usual mouth reed and cork lip stop.

It may not be pretty, but I'm pleased with the end result.
...I think I'll make more of these..  :smiley-char092:

Very unique. How does it sound compared to your other yelper?

Thanks guys!

..It doesn't quite have the range that my cane yelpers have.. It works well on clucks and has more of a 'soft tone' to it. I'm still experimenting with these calls. I have a feeling that with a thinner walled cane insert I'll be able to get the rasp back.
