Just out of curiosity how many plan on fighting the crowds on Black Friday just to save a some bucks? I sometimes wonder if it is all worth it. Yea there are some good sells to get you in the stores, but I find myself asking is it really worth it once I do go. How many feel the same way. It's crazy trying to get around a Walmart during this event or any store that packs in the people typically. So tell us if you plan on taking on the crowds just to save some money. I haven't made up my mind yet. I have seen all the ads via the internet that I care to see. I wasn't really all that impressed. Your thoughts as well or anything else you care to mention.
Brad
And please drive safe and be polite towards other if you do plan on attending the Black Friday Sales. And yes that goes for me as well.
You know they should put these retailers in prison, or at least lay them down in frount of the door when it's opened. the sale says 52" flat screen tvs $299.00 they have 3 at each store and 500 people waiting to get one at each store. you are not going to get one but they done there job your in the store and probably going to buy something, this bait and switch is a bunch of bs. we have our shoping done before thanksgiving it's much more plesant no crowds.
I do it every year now - Man I seen some crazy stuff go down , some places are like a slam pit
Walmart is starting to get their act together with the black Friday sales , years before it was dangerous ,now they have the items spread out in the store to avoid a potential trampling - still some freaks show up , last year I watched them arrest this lady and drag her out the store for just cutting in line -
Be careful of thieves that break into cars , if you buy something pricey take it home, then go to the next store - Down at my mall there is a gang of guys that follow folks around after they leave the Apple store and break into the trunk of your car for laptops etc...
I missed it for 65 years now, and don't want to break my streak..
My wife has done the 2 a.m camp out in the past for stuff like home computer and such..I think she's passing this year. I will be hunting. The only thing black I want to see is a bear.
im not i get all anxiuos and jumpy when im in a big crowd would'nt take much for me to cause a heck of a disturbance

I went with my wife last year and got some electronics. She loves it, me... I plan to be hunting as well.
I'd rather have the flu..
I would love to go shopping with all the sales on hunting items but the crowds would make me crazy.
I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a hot rusty nail!
The only time I go shopping is when my wife is out of town and I'm hungry. :fire:
She does ALL the shopping for our household.

I'd rather be beaten with a ball bat and have a tooth pulled. I do chuckle at the overflowing walmart parking lot at 5AM as I drive down the interstate heading to the woods though.
I have to agree and at least you know where the crazies are for a change.
It is depressing to go into walmart any day of the year. That day would be worse yet. I do plan on hitting the tree stand and seeing a buck or two there.
I plan on stopping at my daughters to pickup a bed then take the bed to the hunting cabin and the old dog and I will see about a phesant and then make some venison sausage.
I will not make that mistake again, I'll be at the house.
All the pushing, shoving and elbowing...I hope I didn't hurt anybody last year. :TooFunny:
Not really. I'm working that day. I may try to swing by (or more likely have my wife do it :you_rock:)the Tractor Supply and pick up a pressure washer they have on sale. I wouldn't think that would be a real huge draw like some other Super stores. If so, I'll just pass.
Screw that. I don't want to save money that bad. Ya'll have fun
Some very good points. That's a very good tip Shannon. Thanks for all the replies so far.
I remember a security guard got killed a few years ago. He was trampled to death by crazed shoppers. Makes me sick. I will be outside hunting after doing any of my families shopping online. Don;t have to leave the house. These guys have some good Black Friday deals. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/main/splash.aspx?key=blackfriday (http://these%20guys%20have%20some%20good%20black%20friday%20deals.%20http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/main/splash.aspx?key=blackfriday)
Yall can have all those crowds. It aint worth the savings.
Won't make that mistake again. I went this past Saturday and also did some online shopping.
I'm thinking about posting a black Friday special on a few calls.
TRKYHTR
I think I'll go try to shoot a few ducks instead. That sounds a "little"more enjoyable than dealing with the crazy crowds.

I don't know. But what I do know is you won't find this one at a Walmart on any day. LOL!

nope
I'll be in the woods. This was the first Thanksgiving since I was 16 that I didn't hunt at least till 12noon. The wife has 17 people coming over to stuff their faces including my two grandsons. I was forbidden to leave and had to help. I also had to post my frontage for hell season(snowmobilers).

Hitting up Walmart at 5 pm today for the 10 pm opening tonight... That way I can still get on some gobblers tomorrow!!!
Id rather pay twice the price for something later than put up with all the crazies on black friday.I dont think it will be too many more years before it becomes black wednesday as the stores all fight it out to see who opens the earliest.
Not no but h@!! no
Well I hit 2 Walmarts for about 1.5hrs total time last nite and came home. And guess what guys, Walmart didn't make a dime on me. I bought nothing.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A woman shot pepper spray to keep shoppers from merchandise she wanted during a Black Friday sale, and 20 people suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:20 p.m. Thursday in a crowded Los Angeles-area Walmart as shoppers hungry for deals were let inside the store.
Police said the suspect shot the pepper spray when the coverings over the items she wanted were removed.
"Somehow she was trying to use it to gain an upper hand," police Lt. Abel Parga told The Associated Press early Friday.
He said she was apparently after some electronics and used the pepper spray to keep other shoppers at bay.
Officials said 20 people suffered minor injuries. Fire department spokesman Shawn Lenske said the injuries to least 10 of them were due to " rapid crowd movement."
Parga said police were still looking for the woman.
The store remained open and those not affected by the pepper spray continued shopping
No thanks , I wouldn't go for love nor money.
I would rather have my head slammed in a car door!

Now that right made a whole lot of sense. You went to not just one but two Wally Worlds and bought nothing on Black Friday. Were you high or drunk?

Same here Chris! Deer hunting for me, than hunkering down at home!
I went deer hunting and shot a nice buck. My wife started at 11:30 PM and finished at 8:30 AM this morning. She said the worst experience was at Cabela's. They had cops standing by and were the most disorganized and unfriendly of all the stores they shopped at. Waited in line for an hour and a half to pay. I owe her big time, she went there to get the Led Sled DFT for me.
I would pay double for something rather than do that BS.
I lucked out today I happen to stop in at home depot forgot about the whole black friday thing. It was nice and quiet ther and i just happen to stumble upon a 89$ off dewalt 18 volt cordless drill. not bad.
Hevi that looks like another nice one. Were did you find it, I just got another monster delivered today.

Al I just went to see the crowd. I wanted to make my way to the back of each store. It's like a maze. It takes some maneuvering, but I made it. I then hit the exit and left. The line to check out would have taken probably well over 1.5hrs. It's just crazy.
Hungover and hunting.
There are some deals online though. I got some Christmas gifts already in the bag here: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/Main.aspx They had discounts and free shipping.
