Title: New hunting property rights
Post by: lightsoutcalls on November 18, 2011, 03:21:26 PM
My dad had knee surgery last week.  While in the hospital, he got to talking to one of his nurses about hunting and mentioned that I make turkey calls.  She has about 120 acres that are within a mile of thousands of acres of national forest land.  She mentioned that she has hogs on her place that she would like to see gone.  I got her phone number and called last night.  She expressed some interest in learning how to use a turkey call and without ever meeting her in person, gave me permission to come down and hunt her land in exchange for a call and some instruction on how to use it.

:z-guntootsmiley:

It's going to be a LONG week until I get to head out there after Thanksgiving.  This is the first piece of private land I have gotten access to with hogs on it.  The plus side of that is the fact that on private land, they can be baited, trapped, hunted at night and taken year round with any type/caliber of weapon.  Woohoo!!!

Congrats Wendel! Last year one of my wife's clients told me I could hunt her property (40 acres) for deer if I'd like. She had recently divorced and wanted someone she knew to hunt the property. I've shot my 2 biggest bucks the last 2 years on this property after 40 years of deer hunting. I hope you find the same fate!
