Saturday morning I had two adult gobblers within 30 yards and was unable to take the shot as I could never get them to separate.they went as they had come...neck and neck.they are blessed Florida has a one per day and two per season limit.Saturday afternoon Ronnie and I were in high hopes of working the big gobbler we had seen the weekend before.at 4:30 pm he made his move.sitting next to Ronnie I had to shift for him to fire and the old longbeard adjusted his wings and I knew it was now or never.Ronnie made a perfect 31 yard shot and the bird met his fate in the old swamp.I was amazed at his beard and for a fall bird he had a good un'.
Look forward to next weekend already.
