Title: Corian Tube
Post by: TRKYHTR on October 28, 2011, 09:15:08 PM
I glued 4 pieces of Corian together and turned a Tube call yesterday. The only problem is that you can see the lines where I glued it. It still sounds good but I don't like the lines.

I want one if you figure out how to diminish the lines.

I don't mind the lines.  Funny how lines don't matter as much if you are using several different pieces of exotic woods to laminate versus the same pieces of material.  Sound is always more important to me than looks.  Just my opinion.

Joe,

What if you turned  the stacked  pieces 90 degrees and make your call from there, as the lines will be parallel to the top, bottom and lanyard lines, and will be in character with the lines of the call. Just like you do with your pot calls. This should make one heck of a call.            Chris

I thought about that. That will take alot of pieces to glue. That will be my next tube. Thanks Chris.

See if using more glue would work.

I think the lines in this case add a bit of character to it, although the fluting idea sounds cool. :icon_thumright:

Joe,

Great !!  If it sounds any better than your wood tubes, they will have to outlaw them...........
