Title: New Scope for .270
Post by: TurkeyAssassin on October 28, 2011, 08:39:20 PM
I have a 3x9x50 Nikon Pro Staff on my Browning X Bolt .270, but wanting a new scope.  Wanting one that will zoom in more.  Heard of a friend talking about a scope but forgot the name, he said it was cat something.

Leupold VXII 4-12x40 sounds what you may be looking for and it's very affordable.

I've had one on top of my knight disc for the past 8 years
and have been very happy with the optical clarity and magnification.

The clarity of the VXII will far surpass that of the nikon prostaff.

You cannot go wrong with the vx3 4.5-14x40s either. I haven't had any issues
with the 5 that I own.

BSA makes a 'cat' model and in my experience Stay Away from it.  I blew up 2 on .223 rifles.  IMO they are not for centerfire rifles or shotguns of any gauge.
Nikon makes good scopes as does Leupold and several other manufactures.  I am very pleased with a new Redfiled I just mounted on my TC Triumph.  Leupold is their parent company.  Good luck.
