Title: Every day carry
Post by: selinoid44 on October 21, 2011, 12:05:17 PM
Just curious how many of you guys carry your handgun on a daily basis? I open carry every day here. I know in some states that is illegal. I'm a firm believer in exercising my 2nd amendment rights. Also what are you carrying? I carry  a Sig Sauer SP 2022 in 9mm, I love it.

On-duty:   Glock 21 with a TLR-1 in a light bearing holster.    I also carry a Ruger LCP in a pocket holster and a Browning Tanto/ serrated knife in my sap pocket.

Off-duty:  Ruger LCP or Smith and Wesson M&P 360 (.357 Mag) in a pocket holster.    I also carry a Kershaw Skyline knife

Kel-Tec P3AT, 380 in DeSantis pocket holster w/ suits amd sport coats
S&W 638, 38 in Galco pocket holster
S&W 3" bull barrel 38, model 36 or 60 in a Alessi in-side the pants holster
I've carried for 40+ years and have done so legally since carry permits became available.  I've never discharged my firearm, but have drawn and displayed a handgun three times to preclude a mugging, subdue a drunk/doper who tried to take my car keys out of the ignition and to dissuade a couple of rednecks way back in the mountains who were trying to play chicken w/ their truck and my car.  The late Jeff Cooper said it best, "An armed society is a polite society."

How do you like that?  That one has had my eye as well but like the 642 just for the 357 capability.

When I go into the woods I carry a Ruger GP100 357 mag with a 6" barrel

If i'm driving through the mountains I have it tucked in between my truck seat and console, fits there nicely.
