Title: WOW, 48 1/2 pounds
Post by: TClark on October 15, 2011, 05:12:47 PM
Was hoping to get a 20# flat before the snow flies. Caught this big blue this morning on cut bluegill (butterflied)
This is indeed the fish of my life!!!
My Ming Yang CL60A worked flawlessly...with 50# power-pro, Berkley 10' glow stick and a 7/0 sickle hook.

Merry Christmas to me!!! My Dr. would have a hissy if he saw me lifting this...but hey, it didn't kill me.

It did fight HARD!!  My wife missed it twice with the net and then it would fight all the harder. Believe me, I was praying, "oh Lord, please don't let me lose this fish".
I used a 10' MH Berkley rod and a catfish bait caster CL60A with 50# power pro line and needed it. Honestly don't know how long it would a took if I caught on one a my smaller outfits.
So far I had caught a 12 pound Flat Head and wanted to top 20# before the snow flies...well, this bad girl sure did that and more!!
Woke up after a nap last night and wondered if I dreamed it all. Then I moved my hands and felt the pain then knew it was for real. I got battle scars....lol  she tore me up some...I'll never hold a blue by the mouth again without a glove on.
