Title: who owns freedom arms
Post by: pdqt on October 11, 2011, 09:42:56 AM
I knew that freedom group was buying up some of the gun companies. What I had read and seen looked okay.
They are owned by Cerberus Capital managment, which is owned by George Soros.

Can anyone expand on this, and how it may affect firearms in America in the future.  They filed for a IPO to sell stock in freedom, but I don't know if they did. I didn't find a stock symble for it with a search for freedom group.

While I absolutely detest George Soros, it appears that he is NOT involved with either Cerebus or Freedom Arms.

I don't know who actually owns Cerebus, but is my understanding that they own Remington and acquired Marlin in around 2008.  Marlin owners have reported many quality control issues since this takeover/sellout.

Cerberus is not "owned" by Soros.  Whether Soros has money invested with Cerberus in some way or another is another question, because it is a private equity and hedge fund operation with many different persons and entities putting money into it.

I have clients doing things with Cerberus, so I know a little about them.  Steve Feinberg is the head man, and he is a big enthusiast for guns and hunting.  In that respect, he is unusual for a large city jewish male.

I don't know but I've been to their shop. It's only a few miles from where I elk hunt.

Thanks for the link to the exec's list. I received the info in an email, and went to freedoms site.  I knew that Soros was connected to or ran hedge funds.
I also know you can't take all emails at face value. That was why I posted.
