Title: What should I get my daughter for her birthday?
Post by: Preacher on October 10, 2011, 08:25:32 AM
My daughter will be turning 21 on the 22nd of this month.   She is in Pharmcey School at ole miss, and she has killed a deer or two even a turkey, but I owuld not call her a die hard hunter.    She is starting to jogg a little bit because her softball career is done.    She mainly just studies (3.6 gpa) and spends time with her big Bisquet head boy friend,   I have no clue and I would like to get her something special.
Here are some pics of Casey Faye.

How about a new car. OK what about an Ipod so she can Skype her boyfriend when she is in school. Am I getting closer?

I too wanted to make my daughter's 21st special.
I bought her a real nice vanity.  For makeup and such.  Has the padded stool to match.

She still uses it daily and really seems to treasure it.

Get her an official red ryder carbine action two hundred shot range model air rifle.

No don't.  She'll shoot her eye out.   :TooFunny: :z-guntootsmiley: :TooFunny: :z-guntootsmiley:

As far as a gift, I'm not much help.  I have a daughter turning 19 this weekend myself.  I'll be buying her hunting license as part of her birthday present... not sure about the rest.

I do have a suggestion, since yours is hitting a milestone at 21.  Last year about this time, my family was going through some difficult weeks and months.  I heard a gentleman on a Christian talk radio program talking about the value of writing letters to your children.  I did this for my 3 daughters with 2 purposes in mind. 1) Admit my shortcomings to them as a father, husband to their mother and leader of our household and to ask their forgiveness.  2) Affirm them and assure them of their value as individuals, as my daughter and as a part of our family.
This required me to think and pray about my family and my children individually in a deeper way than I was used to.  I noticed the other day that my youngest daughter has  her letter taped to the back of her bedroom door, where she sees it every morning and every evening.
Although your situation sounds much different than mine, I suspect there would be deep meaning attached to a letter to your daughter that would be a real blessing to her in the days and years to come.

Good question mine is turning 5 in two weeks and she's getting a pink pair of cowboy boots and some dolls. I tell her just about everyday to stop growing, but she won't listen.

Come back and tell us about not listening in about 8 years. :help: :D

Lightsout may be onto something.  Chicks love that stuff, especially daddy's little girl!  Combine that w/a pic of you and her when she was small and I bet she cries her eyes out, and you will too.
