Title: Wish I had my new gun. (rant)
Post by: new2turkey on October 01, 2011, 06:10:29 PM
Put a Savage Axis .243 on layaway at Cabela's, for a whopping $420 dollars with taxes... I had a laptop that was sold to me about 3 weeks ago, for $330 dollars. I got it for a good price for what it was, and was offered $400 for the computer. So I get the computer, test it, and it over heats the first full day I use it. Call the guy, says he'll fix it for free.

Awesome right? Takes him 3 weeks to get the laptop back to me, after harrassing him on the phone ( I never met him at his house, I thought I was getting robbed). Finally, I get the computer back with a promise it's running fine. Get home, turn it on, 5 minutes later, just shuts off. Like an old tube tv if you unplug it.  :character0029:

So now, I am promised a refund. Called him Wednesday, and I called him 2 other times since, with 2 voicemails. No return calls. And this guy says he gets his business through good service and word of mouth (he repairs computers).

So I am stuck here, with a broken laptop, which was going to pay for the savage when I sold it, but I will wait until Wednesday. It will be paid off, but I can't justify spending the extra $20 on rounds if I am going to make it back and forth to work next week.  :angry9:

Sorry to hear about your computer troubles

If you can wait 2 months to get a new one wait till the day after Thanksgiving /Black Friday sales ,and get a good one for real cheap --last couple of laptops I got were in the 400-500 range brand new -

Thanks Shannon, that's probably a good idea. The laptop will run if it's plugged in, but for some reason the fans won't turn on when it's unplugged. Oh well, what can I do, except hope the guy comes through for me.
