8 days with out so much as a hair.150 plus pics,all at night.Some nice bears too.Hit the bait 17 days in a row all at night. Any one that has ever bear hunted knows they don't like human interference. So maybe somebody needs to inform the DNR of that. Season opened on the 16th.Well during the time I was there I had to contend with opening day of small game season,early youth deer hunt.early goose hunt,bear hunting with dogs,and the weekend warriors that feel a need to shoot every piece of ammo they own before they head back home.One guy shot at least 500 rounds every evening around 7.Logging in the area probably didnt help either. But i'll be back at it Oct.7th. with the bow. :( :( :( Just once before I die I would like to know what a week of peace and quiet feels like.
Red, if you want a week of peace and quiet, we may just need to go do some fishing and sit in the middle of a privately secluded lake.
Sorry to hear about the bear hunt, Red. I hope things go better for you when the bow hunt comes around. It may just be a case of Karma, and that phase bear will be there for the taking. It ain't over 'till it's over..Good luck to you, my friend..Mike
I done told you to come down here and see me, we shoot something and I will gag and muzzle my kids , you will hardley even notice them.
Keep at it. It will happen, and be that much sweeter as well. Enjoy the time in the woods, pick up on the little things, and it will happen when you least expect it.
