Title: The Grinnin' Reaper from Mad Hatter...
Post by: paboxcall on February 15, 2011, 10:05:16 PM
One of those awesome red, white and blue boxes showed up in the mail box yesterday.    :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

Opening up the box, what did I find...a bocote slate / slate, coming in at an easy to run, cool 2.5" pot!!!  Neat little tree talker, that can get really loud if you want.  Perfect size for the shirt pocket, which is why Redbeard calls it the "Pocket Player," and the medallion, well, that's just to cool for words, isn't?

I love the grain of the bocote -- awesome piece of wood for sure.  Striker is cocobolo topped with maple.

Really like this call -- when I saw, I knew I had to have it.

Boy I like it also my hands are small, and its hard to get a lot of sound from a mini call but that one would fill the bill.

I have a sister call to this one and I love it!  Mine's also a Bocote Slate/Slate. There's a lot of sound available in this little package.

Surely appreciate the post and the kind comments. Been really surprised at how these little thin callers can get out there and also be a closer call as well.

Just finished 8 more up to the soundboard step and realized I've gone through 50 pieces of slate in less than a month making these puppies.

Gotta another 50 pieces comin' in soon, guess I'll order 50 more. Or maybe, I'll give glass a shot, whadda think?

I'd definitely like to try one of these in glass.   :gobble:
