Made this one from piece of Black Ash Burl. She is 8 - 1/4" in length. I used CA glue for a protective coating and she polished up real nice. The mouthpiece is black delrin, with pinned brass ferule and rubber lipstop. It plays great, looks great and she is for sale in the classies....pappy

I had to jump in here and ask the question...does anyone know what the object in the last pic is? I goofed up dragging to load the pics and added this one by mistake....it is made from a piece of doubled dyed stabilized box elder burl with aluminum bracings on each end. Now, there are a couple guys who know what it is, so they aren't included in this...but the rest of you all are free to guess, one guess, the first one to get it right I will send you one of these.

As a kid I grew fond of licorice sticks, and since there were 8 in my family, I had to wait till mom would ring the bell announcing come and get it. Now you haven't lived till you ran your hand in a barrel along with 16 pairs of other hungry ones, grabbing and punching till dad would step in and tone things down a little.
Remember the one who answers first according to the time of their post, will be the winner....go for it...pappy

Good questions, I have made several of these, and only one is used at a time on whatever it is that it is used for.....in rough terms it is 2 - 7/8" long and 1 - 1/8" in diameter....now that is it...no more clues....I will say this much, if you do a google search on some of the words in the riddle you will find out what it is... :z-guntootsmiley:

As a kid I grew fond of licorice sticks, and since there were 8 in my family, I had to wait till mom would ring the bell announcing come and get it. Now you haven't lived till you ran your hand in a barrel along with 16 pairs of other hungry ones, grabbing and punching till dad would step in and tone things down a little.
CLARINETS USED TO BE CALLED LICORICE STICKS...THERE ARE EIGHT DIFFERENT CLASSES OF CLARINETS...BARREL IS THE NAME OF THE OBJECT....16 TONAL NOTES ON A CLARINET....TONE THINGS DOWN A LITTLE, THIS IS WHAT A BARREL DOES.
Pappy NO!!. If I would have been patient and waited I would have gotten more clues and played by the rules.
Hope I did not ruin your game. I partially regretted posting but when I looked back I still would not have had a clue. I am not even sure how I got it. Thank good that google guy is smarter then me :TooFunny:
