I've got a custom laminated flare tip that sounds good with any surface.   It's the only one I carry. lol

Who made it? I got a woodhaven flare tip that sounds pretty good but the best one I have is one I got from Ted "Pete" Peters, the shady lady slate call.

I think it's a Woodhaven.  I've had it a long time.  I think it's a birch laminate.   Back when I got it Woodhaven was an up and coming co. so I consider it a custom. lol

I like the straight tip strikers, I just get a better sound from them.

I like the flared tip, I seem to be able to make better purrs and cuts on the edges of the striker with less upkeep.

I make only flared tip for myself.. the purrs and cutts are just so much better and more easily controlled with a flare tip..
