this morning.
My dad died at the VA hospital in Mpls.
He was in the Marine Corps during WWII and served in Guam.
He did not talk much about his service except to say that he was releived when the A Bomb was dropped on Japan, he was training to invade Japan and was pretty sure he would not have made it alive.
He was 87 and lived a good life, that last two years were not good.
He took me hunting for the first time when I was 4 against my mom objections.

Tom, extremely sorry about your loss, and the other things going on in your life right now. Liked your comment about the bomb, because my dad felt the same way. He was fighting in the Phillipines, and a lot of Americans would have lost their lives over there, if the Japaneese hadn't surrendered. Both of us have had the fortunate life to have had a dad for a Patriot, who raised us to enjoy the Outdoors. We were blessed.
Very sorry to hear about your Dad. Prayers for him and your family coming from my wife and I.
