Title: TruGlo Magnum Gobble Dots Reviews
Post by: StruttinGobbler3 on February 15, 2011, 02:54:02 PM
Hey guys. Outfitted my SuperNova with a set of the TruGlo magnum gobble dots at the end of last season. They work well on the patterning board, and I like them so far, but have yet to use them in a hunting situation. Anybody have any reviews on these sights? Just curious. Thanks

I have a set and have mixed feelings about them. They will do their job if you do your job and that's all that matters. I just happened to not do my job with them twice last season and it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

GOOD IDEA ABOUT NAIL POLISH. I HAVE A GOBBLE STOPPER ON MY 835 AND BOTH THE GREEN AN RED SHOWS UP WELL. I LIKE THAT THEY HAVE A CIRCLE OUTSIDE  THE DOT. THIS IS SORTA LIKE A RANGE FINDER .THIS SCOPE HAS DONE ME WELL AND I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT

Great sights, I've rolled many heads with them.

Do you have to remove the factory beads to use these sights?

Nope, they clamp on the rib where you want them.

cheap you may try ebay but be wary of too good to be true.

I use them on my Benelli Super Nova and I love them.   As I'm getting older and the eyes are not as good as they used to be they really help.

I put these Tru Glo sights on my Nova last year and I'm not sure how much it improved my accuracy, but I killed the only turkey I shot at. I opted for these instead of a scope just to have something simpler but easier to see than just the bead. The optics are pretty bright and I think these sights make it easier aiming in low light situations which happens quite often in the turkey woods. Don't think you could go wrong with the Williams fire sights either.

I love my magnum gobble dots especially compared to the junk sights that come on Mossbergs.

I had a set on my 835, but couldn't get them lined in.  I took them off and sent them back to TruGlo and they sent me a new set.  Still didn't work.  I put on a Bushnell Trophy Red Dot and killed 3 that year, only my second year.  Now shoot a Mueller Quick Shot and FOV is awesome.

Dots are easy to see and line up well.  I had problems with the mechanics of the site.

I've used all the sights out there red dot, holo, bead, and fiber optic.  This past year I went back to fiber optic sights (truglo magnum sights to be exact), not because I missed shooting at a bird with my red dot, but I did miss some opertunities to kill birds do to the red dot.

The Truglo Magnum sights are good, but so are the williams fire sights and the limbsaver adjustable sights. If price is an issue I would shop around and find which one of the 3 adj. fiber optic sights I could get the cheapest.

Had a red dot on my 835, but took it off while I was patterning and am using the TruGlos now. Simple and effective! :camohat:
