They also have a taste for expensive Koi fish.

Been watching one almost everyday for the last five years in a good size creek I cross to and from work.  He/she works the same stretch from April through October.  They must migrate.

Those rabbit pictures are classic

I have a small pond by my front entrance to the walkway of my house , I stocked it up with some  Japanese Koi fish several times , they were beautiful , the family loved them , problem was the local herons loved them even more -

They are in Wi. They aren't any good to eat. They are way more fishy tasting than a Bald Eagle...

Wow, I didn't realize that either!  How dare they eat ducks!  They have enough to worry about with predators and snapping turtles.

I imagine a few snapping turtles would calm him down a bit.  :icon_thumright:

They are quite the"oppourtunistic feeder",not to mention a great shock call to get turkeys fired up.In the swamp it works better than owls, cranes, etc.

I knew about everything but the rabbit
, might want to keep the babies away from the edge of the water.

Awesome photo's Wess. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, I forgot to tell you just how much my wife loved that drawing I bought from you of the heron. She has it framed and displayed in the living room. Thanks again bud.
