Post by: the Ward on August 21, 2011, 09:53:52 AM
Hey guys,i have a old single shot savage/stevens single shot 20gauge,fixed full choke 26 barrel made around '78 or '79.It was my first shotgun and i am interested in setting it up for turkey.Has any one have a similar gun and some recommendations for a starting point for loads?I'm going to have it d&t for a rail, don't know if it can be fitted with screw in chokes or even if i'll need to do that yet.Can hevi 13s or htl shot be used in a gun like this? Thanks for any info you can pass along....Ward

Got the same rig and it was explained to me the barrel may not be thick enough for machine work to accept screw in chokes.Shoot it now and see what you got.
