Title: Was forced out of the call shop and into the kitchen!
Post by: Gooserbat on March 19, 2026, 08:45:06 PM
Mrs. Gooserbat, who I work for, took the evening off and I was left to fend for myself. I found three #9 and a single #8 tss and two #6 lead in the remaining last bird from last season.

He's now reduced to poppers and the shot is scheduled for recycling. Oh yeah white beans and venison shank cooked in coffee on the side.

Looks good !!

It ain't the TSS you find in the meat that's the problem.    It's the TSS you DON'T find.   THAT'S the problem.

Looks yummy!  On a different note, I would assume that 6 shot was from someone else...probably body-whapping at that gobbler from way too far off hoping for a golden BB. Lucky he was still around for you to be able to kill him. I'm afraid a lot of those "pre-shot" gobblers don't survive like that one did.  ::)

I've killed a few over the years that carried shot.  I killed a great Merriam in Wyoming a few years ago that had my #9 tss, copper plated #5 and lead #4 all in him.

Did the same thing in UT a few years back. Started skinning the gobbler I killed and found a bunch of what looked like #7 +/- bird shot just under the skin all along one side. ...Effing people!  ::)  ???  :angry9:
