Last year I got the urge to step back from the synthetic, camo guns and get back old school, though not completely. I searched for a new Remington 870 20 ga with 21" or 26" barrel with the wood stock, but they seemed to had disappeared. The year before I looked at one several times but just could not put my hands on one. I had also looked at the Henry Single shots but was hesitant if it did not shoot bead.
After some research I discovered it was drilled and tapped so I could add a red dot if needed to or desired. I ordered one and she turned out beautiful. Shot her with a RSF and 9s and she shot bead dead on.
Season got here quick so I toted her by hand. Was not bad, but sometimes a sling just comes in handy. Ordered some sling studs and got them installed. At Unicoi, Bryan Absher of Moonshine Leather works had some old style camo slings that caught my eye. I held off buying one but regretted it since.
Reached out to Bryan during NWTF convention and he got my order down. Told me it would be a while as he was behind, but I guess he under promised and over delivered as it showed up today. It is beautiful and I am a happy turkey hunter. Has turned out better than I could have hoped! Look forward to many years of use!
