Title: M3020
Post by: cwhitfield96 on February 12, 2026, 06:51:09 PM
So I started with stock choke then got an anaconda .570 and then a trulock .575.

Just shot it today, first shot with the trulock was incredible. Second shot was certainly killable but nowhere near as good of pattern. I'm shooting apex 9s and shot a lbxr 6 before the two apex shots.

Anyone have experience with something similar and determine a reason? Don't want to keep shooting shells at the price they are. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20260212/e4b34ab56ee4908aaac0c2b978614b2d.jpg)

Did you clean the barrel and choke between shots?  Also, you will see count differences shot to shot on paper, so before the cost increases, a 3 shot average was the best tell. Also, the factory choke in my 3020 was outstanding, but may not be the case for all.

I cleaned the barrel before going to shoot but shot the longbeard first to foul it back up some. I don't clean the barrel often on turkey guns. I was not super impressed the the factory choke with the 9's. I know there will be difference between shots but that seemed pretty drastic to me. Just wondering what others have experienced.
