Post by: Penguin907 on November 21, 2025, 09:26:27 AM
Anyone done a grind to fit recoil pad and have advice? Looking at doing my first one to make an old Remington 870 youth 20 gauge more pleasant to shoot. It's stock rubber pad is a cracking a bit.

You may be able to find one that fits that set up.  Now Limbsaver has some nice ones.  We have put them on a few times.  Put them in the freezer then sand with belt sander.  :z-twocents:  :z-twocents:

A pad grinding jig makes this job immeasurably easier, at least for me. There are two types, hanging and pedestal. I like the hanging type, but either one works fine.  Brownells and likely others have them for sale.

Thanks for the info. I checked all the prefit for Limbsaver and Kick Eez, but none fit. Ended up getting a Kick Eez magnum pad.Hoping to have time to grind it in early December.
