Got the long awaited text message...the call is ready. I think most would agree Osage is just a classic wood for any yelper. I used to own a Permar classic in osage about 20 years ago, following my mentor, Boatpaddle, advice to establish the fundamentals and learn on just one call, that was the one I picked to learn how to draw a yelper.
I've always enjoyed the pitch from a 1920 call, being a bit smaller than a standard trumpet. So I asked Ralph to spin a 1920, this one would be osage. And, couple it with an amber tip. I figured amber and osage would compliment each other right out of the gate.....but more so every year as the wood naturally darkened to that wonderful, eye-pleasing burnt orange.
So yesterday my phone messages beeped, and I opened the text from Mr. Permar to find this. Excited as a kid the night before Christmas would be an understatement, can't wait for it to arrive.
