Finally decided to try doing away with the ferrule on a couple of calls to see how I like it. Frankly, the ferrule isn't necessary the way I construct my trumpet yelpers, so I didn't do a ferrule on this one. The customer wanted Hawaiian Koa with nice figure, and I think the figure in this call satisfies that requirement. I like the picture I took in the shop better than the one I took outside. When you turn this call in a little light it changes colors. This is why I have a Koa addiction.........LOL!!!
Wow, that is a beautiful piece of Koa..

I couldn't have said it any better. Someone is going to be very happy.
Another pretty piece of Koa. I bet it does look even better in person, the way the light reflects on the figure sure makes Koa special.
Mighty fine koa horn Marvin!
She's a beauty!! Someone is going to be very happy with it.
Beautiful call Mr. Marvin!!!
Gentlemen,
Thank you for the kind words. Turning Koa is like opening gifts at Christmas, you don't really know what you've got until you turn it....and open the package.
Beautiful trumpet
Impressive work, great job!
