This is how you Pass a night in ICU
Wired up and unable to sleep
I want to preface this with an explanation of where I am and what time it is. I am lying in bed in an ICU and it's 1:45 AM. I cannot sleep and I'm trying to be comfortable while bound to a bed with all kinds of leads and I need help to get up. Some might say life sucks in these times and truly today when I feared for my health or even my life it was not good, and my mind was not on the light of the world. We are indelibly made to live, and when the chips are down, we'll fight for that last breath of life. Yet we are always given the opportunity to live in the light of the world in every circumstance. Now here I lay with time to contemplate just what that living in the light is. Perhaps it is trusting that everything truly works out for good. I met a lot of very helpful people today. There's good in every circumstance and Christ is always in the fight with us. Even when it's hard to see him. I look around at people much worse off than me and I can't help but be concerned for them. It becomes an opportunity to serve Christ and pray for them. What are our lives anyway if we cannot share the love of God in every circumstance. I fully attach my feelings to Paul's feelings in Philippians, "what does it matter if I live or die, to die is gain to live is to glorify Christ "(paraphrase mine). Yet God does not always afford a quiet passing in the night. He calls us to embrace life. Job asked a very profound question, "Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?". It's all part of what makes us. We learn compassion for others in this time. I'll say once again and a thousand times more, trust in God and Jesus. The battle belongs to the Lord Jesus, and we are his witnesses. Jesus is the light of our fallen world and in him there's no darkness. If we are walking in his light our circumstances are not what defines us. Job faced more than man should ever endure, but God was with him all the time. Remember God never removed the circumstances he led Job through it, and he allowed Job his chance to question God's plan. Our faith should transform our lives with a transformed mind. Paul tells us in Romans, "if God is for us who can be against us "! As tough as it is we should never fear anything this world may bring upon us. Jesus knew there would be pain in our lives and taught us through his life that we should focus on the assured victory of eternity. Yet we were created emotional beings, and the mortal life demands reaction. Job is a good case study in human response. He didn't understand why God would allow him to fall into ruin. He felt hopeless and found only frustration in his intruding friends. However, he never lost his belief in God. We are allowed our own pain and suffering. We are allowed to ask our questions and express our frustration, but we need to work these things out through seeking the Lord first. He truly does work all things out for good to those who love him. What we need to realize is he is not going to change our circumstances he is changing us. As Paul said, it's all gain!
I pray for your physical, mental and spiritual strength my OG brother :cross2:
Please B-Well
Johnny
First off, I am praying for you. Secondly, this body is just a vessel from one world to another. It is having that "faith" of the unseen that makes it difficult for many to imagine. When Jesus told his disciples that "they had seen firsthand the glory of God", but to think on those of us who havent and have the faith to believe that He exists, THAT is a blessing beyond all measure.
Misfire. I have seen a very lot of the Kingdom. I came close to the gates of heaven before and I have seen the miraculous. There is no faith of the unseen in this old man. I know he lives and I know the spirit that walks with me. If only I could express it more completely in a way the ears of the world could hear, many more would be saved. I believe we are in the day of the sun setting on this world and about to rise for the new world. Let all who's heart are troubled know the the great creator sent his son to save them.
Seems like you have a good grasp on how to spread His word now brother. Run with it
