Title: Pau Rosa Trumpet
Post by: GregGwaltney on June 28, 2025, 07:42:37 PM
Don't see many Pau Rosa Trumpets, but it sure makes a nice running/sounding call. I took some time to build a few trumpets for my website, this is one I listed there.

Appreciate it.....It does sound fantastic, reminds me of Kingwood or Cocobolo in terms of tone.

Very nice sleeper wood!  Fordhunt made me a couple out of Pau Rosa a couple of years ago!  It's a beautiful, hard and heavy wood!  Some pieces can look a lot like tulipwood!  Those are beauties Greg!

Yes, it is a hard, resonant wood, has hints of rosewood to me......I had a nice billet that I cut into blanks, so plenty to have fun with in the future.
