Title: Poults
Post by: Cowboy on June 15, 2025, 01:16:00 PM
Anyone seeing in poults ? I saw a single hen with one poult yesterday.  Bummed out about that, but then saw another hen different area that had 10 + poults. Also had a report the previous day about 2 hens with 14 poults. We have had a wet spring but seems a few are doing good.

As wet as its been last 2 weeks I'm surprised if there will be any to count come August. It will be weak bird numbers 2 yr from now in alot of places unless you manage to have gobbler carry over on farms.

Saw first set on camera in GA this morning - little larger than a full sized quail

I haven't been out to look since season ended.  The open areas are mostly grown up in tall grass now so seeing poults is difficult.  We had a wet May and June but we did last year also and had a good hatch then.  I bet we did again this year.
