Title: I’ve lost my fastball
Post by: xarcher on May 31, 2025, 09:45:04 PM
No tag filled this year.  Probably hunted 20 days between WV and PA and can count on one hand the number of legitimate gobbles. Called one to within shooting range but he would not show his face.  Had one ready to cross the dirt road in front of me when a van came by and spooked him off. Also had a few zig when I zagged.  My usual haunts have gone dry.  Maybe 7 years ago I saw 13 birds hit the ground between me and friends/family.

Congrats to all you guys for getting it done this year. Enjoyed the stories and photos. Also a big thanks to Norman for orchestrating it all.

Until next year............

This was a strange year for turkeys all around the country from what I hear. It's not you, you were not alone. A lot in my inner circle struggled this year, trust me. Your fast ball is still there, next year you will find some gobblers to "Strike out", and take a ride home with you for sure! Have a safe off-season.

You weren't alone bro. This was a " changeup" year here too. Craziest season I ever saw. Fewer birds seen, worked and harvested than any other year. We will all bounce back bro. Z
