Title: Turkey season is truly over
Post by: g8rvet on May 27, 2025, 05:36:23 PM
It has been done for a while here, but my brain is now firmly on fishing. Have had a few decent days on the flats here at home.   Headed to Venice this weekend for my first every Louisianna redfish trip.

We are all in mourning until next February and then the thought of Turkey season will brighten our day.

At least there is deer season to distract us for a while.

It's borderline depressing when the end of season rolls around

Sadly it just ended here. I'll be walleye fishing for about 6 weeks before I start hanging treestands for bow season

I will only be in mourning until September 1st.  Then I will go after toms again. September through the end January.

I gotta get my dove field in soon.  Fishing in between.  Then early Oct dove and late October duck/goose in Canada is on.  Quail in Dec-Feb with some cold weather salt time too. And then the next thing ya know, turkey season is back.

Yup, it's over and I hate it. Y'all have fun fishing. I am gonna work, do renovation projects, kill a few deer, and actually plan for next spring for once.

With quail, grouse and turkey season from September through January and deer season all of October and first of November and then elk near the end of November, I could add duck, goose and predator hunting into the mix and hunt pretty much all year long.

Seems like I'm not alone haha

Had a few days where my mind was still with the turkeys but now I'm thinking more about fishing and I hope I'll have time to go soon haha

Meh, yall can have those fish. Time for 3d archery shoots, testing rifle handloads on the range and prepping for deer. Also, I drew another elk tag so best be working out now.
