As I went outside to bring the dog in tonight I was immediately stopped in my tracks by the singing of crickets and other such night-time critters. What a joyous chorus they were and a smile made its way across my face, that had been a frown for most of the busy day!
Thanks be to God for such simple things, in this time of HURRY.
I hope I never make myself too busy as to miss such simple pleasures!

Great thoughts. I love the cicadas this year. Loud and proud.
Nothing gives me that feeling like sitting outside listening to whippoorwills in the spring, I've never heard a cricket.
Well put Wess. I look forward to the sound of the spring peepers every spring too. My Mom is 89 and she is thrilled to hear a Whipoorwill. Says it brings back memories of her childhood in Tennessee. I know someday Mom will be with God and I will be left with fond memories when I hear the whipoorwills. :cross2: :cross2: :cross2:
Amen Wess. :jesus-cross:
Well said Wess !! :icon_thumright:

I had much the same experience the other day when I heard a tree frog. I just had to stop and listen for a moment in my rush to get to my next appointment.
Thanks for the reminder.
I think if everybody enjoyed and appreciated the simple thing in life there would be alot less need for antidepressants. Alot less crime and violence. thanks for sharing that thought
Well said indeed!
I miss hearing bobwhites whistle, something we just don't have here anymore.
Thats cause you were thinking"hmmmmmm crickets,summertime....fat bluegills!
